Juan Miró and Aimé Maeght in the gardens of Musée Maeght in front of a small pool with an "Oeuf cosmique" by Miró in center. Saint-Paul-de-Vence 1964.
Artist Juan Miró (left) and his gallerist Aimé Maeght in conversation in the gardens of the Musée Maeght, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, 1964. Miró sits on a low stone ledge while Maeght kneels on the gravel ground beside him. Between them, rising from a small pool, is Miró’s sculpture "Oeuf cosmique" (Cosmic Egg), a large, dark form on a pedestal decorated with painted symbols. A rough stone wall and a geometric lattice window are visible in the background.
