Luis Miguel Dominguin. Arles 1960. A bullfight Picasso attended (see "Picasso").
In the sandy bullring of Arles in 1960, matador Luis Miguel Dominguin, dressed in a traditional suit of lights, holds a cape to guide a charging black bull. With several barbed darts known as banderillas lodged in its back, the bull lowers its head as it passes. A large crowd of spectators fills the stands to watch the event, a bullfight also attended by Pablo Picasso.
