At La Galloise, his home in Vallauris, Pablo Picasso gives a drawing lesson to his children, Claude and Paloma. Lying on his stomach on a shaggy carpet, the artist is engrossed in a large sheet of paper on the floor. His son, Claude, kneels beside him, also drawing, while his daughter, Paloma, sits and watches the shared creative activity. The intimate bedroom scene was captured on 16 April 1953.
