Pablo Picasso doing a charcoal drawing of the view from Le Fournas during filming of Luciano Emmer's documentary. Vallauris 26.6.1953.

During the filming of Luciano Emmer's documentary, Pablo Picasso is seen from behind in his studio, Le Fournas. Wearing a white knit sweater, he contemplates a large canvas on an easel, his hand held to his chin. The nascent work is a bold, black-line charcoal drawing of the cubist-style landscape visible from his window, depicting simplified buildings on a hillside with plumes of smoke. Vallauris, 26 June 1953.
