Encouraged by his father, Claude Picasso tries to do a portrait of Pablo Picasso, portraying him with a round face, deep furrows on his forehead, a triangle for a nose, and streaks of hair on the sides of his head. La Galloise, Vallauris 16.4.1953.

Encouraged by his father, Claude Picasso points towards his childlike portrait of the artist, clipped to a drawing board. As the young boy kneels on the floor, Pablo Picasso sits holding his daughter, Paloma, on his lap and kissing her cheek. Paloma, in a dark velvet dress with a striped bib, looks directly at the camera. This moment of family creativity was captured at their home, La Galloise, in Vallauris on 16 April 1953.
