One day Quinn asked Pablo Picasso if he could photograph the top floor studios. He agreed and prcoeeded to take out, one by one, old and new paintings from his collection. This work Pablo Picasso remembered Quinn photographed him painting in 1955 (see 550853 - 550929). Mas Notre-Dame-de-Vie, Mougins 1967.
In his studio at Mas Notre-Dame-de-Vie, Mougins, in 1967, Pablo Picasso stands full-length before the camera. Wearing a distinctive diamond-patterned shirt, he holds a serious expression, his left hand tucked casually in his pocket. At the photographer's request to see the top-floor studios, Picasso began presenting works from his collection. Behind him rests a large, surrealist diptych, a painting he recalled Edward Quinn photographing him creating in 1955. The rustic stone wall provides a textured backdrop for the biomorphic figures in the artwork.
