In 1967, at his Mas Notre-Dame-de-Vie home in Mougins, Pablo Picasso granted Edward Quinn access to his top-floor studios. The artist, seen in a distinctive patterned shirt, presented old and new paintings from his collection. He stands behind a large Cubist portrait of a woman, a work he recalled Quinn photographing him painting in 1955. Surrounded by a prolific accumulation of canvases, including one marked "24.10.67" in the background, Picasso meets the camera's lens with a calm, steady gaze.
