During the 1953 Rallye Monte Carlo, the team of Koks and Van der Werff undergo the braking and starting test in their Volkswagen Beetle, N° 437. Positioned on a paved track lined with striped cones, the car passes under a large wooden archway as crowds observe from behind barriers displaying "MINTEX" and "MARCHAL" banners. This test required drivers to accelerate from a standing start for 200 metres and then brake in the shortest possible distance.
