In the Barcelona home of their mother, Lola Ruiz Vilató, Pablo Picasso's sister, sit members of the Vilató family in 1970. From left, Pablín, Lolita, and Jaime are seated in ornate, gilded chairs, dwarfed by two of their uncle’s monumental early paintings: a somber First Communion and a dramatic sickbed scene. These works were part of the collection from Picasso's youth that the family held before the artist gifted it to the Museu Picasso of Barcelona.
