At his villa La Galloise, Pablo Picasso sits on a couch holding a young girl on his lap. He looks down toward his son, Claude, who kneels on the floor, engrossed in drawing a portrait of his father on a large board. Encouraged by Picasso, the boy concentrates on his work, while the girl gazes directly at the camera. A large, cubist-style line drawing is tacked to the wall behind them. Vallauris, 16 April 1953.
