Madoura pottery, Vallauris 1961
An overhead photograph from 1961 shows a round, white ceramic plate from the Madoura pottery in Vallauris. Resting on a rough stone surface, it is decorated with raised, black, stylized figures depicting a dynamic bullfight. In the center, a picador on horseback confronts a large bull, while the entire scene is encircled by several smaller bulls in various poses, rendered in a bold, abstract silhouette style.
