A rare document of Pablo Picasso with his four children, Paloma Picasso, Maya Picasso, Claude Picasso and Paulo Picasso. Christmas at La Galloise. The wagon was a gift from reporter Alfredo Quaglino and comes from Sicily. Vallauris 1953.

In a rare photograph from Christmas 1953, Pablo Picasso observes his four children at his villa, La Galloise, in Vallauris. Standing in his cluttered studio, he looks on as Paulo, Maya, Claude, and Paloma gather on the floor, captivated by an elaborate horse-drawn wagon. The Sicilian cart was a gift from reporter Alfredo Quaglino. Paulo gestures towards the toy, a cigarette in hand, while young Claude and Paloma examine it closely. A poster for a Vallauris exhibition is visible in the background.
