In the ancient Roman amphitheater of Arles, matador Luis Miguel Dominguin acknowledges the crowd in 1960. Dressed in an elaborate "traje de luces," he gazes upwards with a slight smile, his right arm raised. The tiered seats are filled to capacity for this bullfight, which was also attended by Pablo Picasso. A sign for the local "CLUB TAURIN RICARD" is visible on the weathered arena wall.
