Pablo Picasso working with the help of Hidalgo Arnéra on linogravure rehaussée, the so called épreuves rincées (rinsed proofs). Mas Notre-Dame-de-Vie, Mougins 1964.

In the unconventional setting of a bathroom at his Mas Notre-Dame-de-Vie home, Pablo Picasso works alongside printer Hidalgo Arnéra. With intense concentration, the two men examine carved linocut blocks displayed on a small table. They are collaborating on linogravure rehaussée, a technique for creating so-called épreuves rincées (rinsed proofs). The tiled walls and the edge of a bathtub behind them highlight the makeshift nature of the studio space in Mougins, 1964.
