At his villa La Californie in Cannes, Pablo Picasso presents two new drawings to an intimate group in 1959. With his back to the camera, the artist displays the large, unframed Cubist portraits, which are propped on a bentwood rocking chair. Observing the work are gallery owner Louise Leiris and her husband Michel, publisher André Weill, and Picasso’s son, Paulo.
