  • Martine Carol playing the part of Nana in a screen adaption of Emile Zola’s novel, which was said to resemble Martine’s own life story. Director of the film was Martine’s husband Christian-Jaque. During the filming of the indoor race course scenes, Martine cut an amusing figure while getting back and forward to her dressing room during a very heavy rainfall, protected by her husband and an umbrella.
