Sydney H. Allard (center), founder of the Allard car company, studies a document during the 1952 Rallye Monte Carlo. Dressed in a trench coat, he listens intently as a man in a tweed cap gestures toward the paper. To the right, an observer in a fedora, possibly an official or journalist, holds a notepad and pen.
