During the “Golden Fifties” the Côte d’Azur was the playground of celebrities from the world of show biz, art and business. Edward Quinn (1920-1997) lived and worked there as photographer. The rich and the famous came to the Côte d’Azur, the French Riviera, to congregate and relax. But the movie stars knew how much their off-screen image counted and Quinn more than anyone else was at the right place at the right time being able to get spontaneous and enchanting images. They catch the unique charm, sophistication and chic of a legendary era. His nephew Wolfgang Frei and his wife Ursula are taking care of the extensive portfolio.
The Edward Quinn Archive contains more than 100'000 photos from the 1950s up to the 1970s. The most important part of the archive consists of about 10'000 photos of Picasso.
